East meets West love story.

Savoyards Musical Comedy Society, Presents The King and I (The Musical) on stage at the Iona Performing Arts Centre, Wynnum, Queensland from 17 June – 1 July.

East versus West makes for a dramatic, richly textured and ultimately uplifting tale of enormous fascination.

Set in the early 1860s in the royal capital city of Bangkok, in the kingdom of Siam, The King and I is the story of Anna Leonowens, an English widow, who was engaged by the King of Siam to teach English and other Western ideas and philosophies to members of the royal family, including his many wives and children.

Western values clash with old fashioned customs and traditions as Anna and the King find their personal ideals challenged.

Featuring a cast of 44 performers, including 14 youngsters as children of the King, and a live orchestra bringing this score to life, The King and I is full of rich visuals and a story that makes for a great night at the theatre.

This show is suitable for the whole family.

Tickets range from $25 - $48. Go to www.savoyards.com.au or phone Savoyards on (07) 3893 4321 for more details.
